I attended the Piedmont City Council Meeting on Tuesday afternoon. On the agenda, was  residents addressing the possibility of Pickleball Courts being constructed in Piedmont.

There was a group of residents who came to that meeting solely for the purpose of promoting Pickleball. This group had a spokesperson, who addressed the Council. She was passionate about the Council funding the construction of Pickleball Courts in Piedmont. She told the Council they have very nice courts in Centre and they want some in Piedmont.

Coming from Michigan almost two years ago, I can relate to this Pickleball craze. I really want to start to play Pickleball myself, and sooner then later, it will happen. It’s great fun, exercise and it gets you outside.

Pickeball, is a combination of tennis and badminton. The cost for Pickleball paddles and the ball, which is just a Wiffle ball, is not that much. I used to play Wiffle ball in our driveway for hours and I loved it.

So, now it’s time to start playing Pickleball. I hope the residents of Piedmont get their own Pickleball courts.
