SAND ROCK – Emma Sipsy homered twice and drove in five runs. She also tossed a one-hitter with five strikeouts in leading Sand Rock to a 17-0 area softball thrashing of Gaston on Monday.

Sand Rock pounded out 16 hits in the game.

Katelyn St.Clair went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a triple and two doubles. She also scored three runs and had four RBIs. Aliyah King, Aubie Camp and Molly Lay each had a pair of hits for Sand Rock. One of King’s hits was a double. She also had two runs and three RBIs. Camp also scored three runs. Lay scored a run.

Paitlyn Hughes had a hit, a walk, two runs and a RBI. Maddie Clanton contributed a hit and two runs. Bailey Kilgore came away with a hit and a run. Emma Thompson finished with a hit and a RBI.

Sand Rock travels to Fyffe on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
