Thunderstorms With Heavy Rainfall Possible By Mid-Week

An unsettled weather pattern will develop across the area toward midweek with rain and storms capable of producing torrential downpours along with some severe storm risk across the forecast area.
Highlights for Severe Storms
Where: The southwest half of Central Alabama
When: Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday night
Threats: Damaging winds up to 60 mph
  • A tornado or two can not be ruled out

Highlights for Flood Potential

Where: All but far northern Central Alabama with greatest chances far south and southeastern areas.

When: Tuesday evening through Thursday morning

  • Rainfall amounts from 4 to 6 inches possible
  • Localized flooding in urban and poor drainage areas
