Road Construction Could Slow Traffic in Cherokee and DeKalb Counties

In Cherokee County Wiregrass Construction will start a nearly $1 million resurfacing project – consisting of approximately three miles of Alabama Highway 35 from Alabama Highway 273 just north of Gaylesville – all the  way to the DeKalb County line.

Last week in DeKalb County – Whitaker Contracting began a $1.6 million resurfacing of about seven miles of U.S. 11 – from the Etowah County line north to Lykes Lane in Collinsville.

ALDOT is advising motorists to expect delays due to single-lane closures within those work zones.
