GADSDEN – In the Gadsden State Umpire Clinic on Friday, Cedar Bluff picked up a pair of softball wins over Gadsden City and Gaylesville. The Lady Tigers defeated Gadsden City 12-4 and beat Gaylesville 12-2.
In the win over Gadsden City, Cedar Bluff took control early by scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. Za’Niya Kyle led the Lady Tigers at the plate with a 3-for-3 performance, which included a triple and a double. She scored three runs and finished with four RBIs.
Kindal Grace, Kylie Vadon and Ciana Smith each contributed a pair of hits. Grace tripled, scored a run and had a RBI. Vadon doubled and scored two runs. Smith scored twice and drove in a run.
Jacie Clowdis came away with a hit, a run and two RBIs. Kaylyn Vadon collected a hit, a run and a RBI. Rylie Walker had a hit and scored a run. Blakelea Hall finished with a hit and Anna Henderson scored a run.
Hall and Kaylyn Vadon split time in the circle. Both tossed two innings. Hall gave up an unearned run on a hit with a walk. Kaylyn Vadon gave up three unearned runs on no hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
The Lady Tigers also took control early against Gaylesville. They scored seven first inning runs and cruised to the win.
Kylie Vadon led the Lady Tigers at the plate by going 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a run and three RBIs. Kyle tripled, scored twice and had a RBI. Henderson doubled, scored a run and had two RBIs.
Smith contributed a hit, two runs and a RBI. Hall collected a hit, a walk, a run and a RBI. Kaylyn Vadon managed a hit, a run and a RBI. Walker had a hit and two runs. Grace and Anslee Evans both finished with a hit and scored a run.
Mackenzie Kimmons earned the win in the circle. She tossed three innings and scattered two runs (one earned) on four hits with a walk.
Sydney Smith doubled and scored a run for Gaylesville. Aubrie Peek added a hit and a RBI. Lydia Reynolds contributed a hit and run. Emma Givens finished with a hit.
Givens worked an inning in the circle. Reynolds tossed two and had a pair of strikeouts.
