Hill’s no-hitter against Pisgah highlights Lady Warrior softball wins in Gadsden State Umpire Clinic

GADSDEN – At the Gadsden State Umpire Clinic on Friday, Emma Hill tossed a no-hitter through six innings and finished with 12 strikeouts in a 7-0 victory over Pisgah. The Lady Warriors also defeated Sand Rock 6-1.

In the win over Pisgah, Cherokee County scored six runs in the top of the first. Grayson Tucker led the Lady Warriors at the plate with a pair of hits, including a double. She drove in three runs and scored another.

Audrey Haygood tripled and drove in a run. Abby Lea, Raechel Russell and Lanie Williams each had a hit and scored a run. Hill added a hit. Anna Walker walked, scored a run and had a RBI. Macy Lea walked and scored a run.

In the win over Sand Rock, the Lady Warriors scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning. Walker and Russell both contributed a pair of hits and scored a run apiece. One of Walker’s hits was a double.

Abby Lea doubled, walked and scored a run. Williams collected a hit, a run and two RBIs. Haygood added a hit and two RBIs. Hill had a hit and scored a run. Macy Lea finished with a hit.

Abby Lea picked up the win after pitching a two-hitter in 2 1/3 innings. She walked four and struck out two. Hill tossed 2 2/3 innings. She walked one and struck out seven.

Emma Sipsy doubled for Sand Rock. Molly Lay had the other Lady Wildcat hit. Aliyah King walked. Macy Martin suffered the loss.
