Cedar Bluff sweeps baseball doubleheader against Jacksonville Christian

CEDAR BLUFF – The Cedar Bluff Tigers swept a baseball doubleheader from visiting Jacksonville Christian on Thursday afternoon. The scores were 15-2 and 11-1.

In the first game, Cedar Bluff (11-11) erupted for eight runs in the bottom of the first inning. Caleb Edmondson, Samson Mallett and Isaac Bishop led the Tigers at the plate. All three went 2-for-3. Edmondson and Mallett both walked and drove in three runs apiece. Edmondson scored three runs and Mallett once. Bishop drove in two runs and scored three times.

Hunter Stallings doubled, walked twice, scored a run and drove in one. Bryson Teague tallied a hit, two walks, a run and two RBIs. Eli McFry managed a hit, a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Jacob Chambers contributed a hit, a walk and two RBIs. Kaden Pack provided a hit and scored a run. Warren Wallace walked and scored a run.

Stallings picked up the win on the mound for the Tigers. He surrendered just one hit in three innings with two walks and seven strikeouts. Pack also pitched an innings of one-hit ball with a pair of strikeouts.

In the second game, Teague took the win and posted a pair of hits at the plate, including a double. He also walked, scored a run and drove in two.

On the mound, Teague allowed just one hit through four innings and had three strikeouts.

Chambers and Stallings were both 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Stallings also scored a run. Pack doubled, walked, scored two runs and drove in one. Bishop doubled, walked twice and scored a run. Edmondson added a hit, a walk, a run and a RBI. Kolwyn Morrison finished with a hit and scored a run.

Cedar Bluff hosts Gaylesville for an area game on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
