GRANT – The Cedar Bluff Tigers swept a baseball doubleheader at DAR on Monday. The scores were 6-3 and 15-5.
In the first game, Sam Payne tripled, scored a run and drove in one. Warren Wallace also had a hit, a run and a RBI. Logan Hampton had a hit and a RBI. Kolwyn Morrison contributed a hit and a run. Caleb Edmondson walked and scored a run. Isaac Bishop and Hunter Stallings both scored a run. Samson Mallett finished with a RBI.
Hampton picked up the win on the mound. He walked three and struck out eight.
In the second game, Edmondson collected three hits, including a home run and a triple. He also walked twice, scored twice and finished with six RBIs.
Wallace added a pair of hits, including a double, with a walk, three runs and two RBIs. Kaden Pack also homered, walked, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs. Jacob Chambers contributed a pair of hits. Sam Payne had a hit and a RBI.
Mallett walked twice, scored a run and drove in one. Stallings walked, scored a run and drove in one. Bishop walked three times and scored three runs. Eli McFry walked and scored a run. Bryson Teague walked. Isaac Roberts had a RBI.
Morrison picked up the win after working all five innings. He didn’t allow an earned run and scattered four hits, five walks and nine strikeouts.
Cedar Bluff (9-11) travels to Sylvania for another doubleheader on Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m.
