Gaylesville softball rallies past Coosa Christian

GAYLESVILLE – The Gaylesville Lady Trojans rallied from two runs down in the bottom of the sixth inning by scoring five times. They held on in the seventh to take a 14-11 softball win over visiting Coosa Christian on Monday.

Bayleigh Ratliff and Emma Givens led the Lady Trojans at the plate. Both went 4-for-4. Ratliff delivered a triple, a run and five RBIs. Givens contributed a double, a run and two RBIs.

Sidney Smith went 2-for-4 with three runs and a RBI. Gracie Dawson was 2-for-5 with a double, a run and two RBIs.

Jayden Dobbins doubled, scored two runs and had two RBIs. Lydia Reynolds finished with a hit, two runs and a RBI.

Givens tossed four innings in the circle. She gave up seven runs (five earned) on one hit with six walks and four strikeouts. Reynolds pitched in relief.

Gaylesville hosts Skyline on Thursday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
