PIEDMONT – Cacey Brothers collected a pair of hits, including a home run, scored twice and drove in three runs to lead the Piedmont Lady Bulldogs to a 10-0 softball win over visiting Saks on Monday.
Jaycee Glover doubled twice, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs for the Lady Bulldogs (2-0). Ava Pope posted a pair of hits, including a double, and scored a run.
Cayla Brothers added a hit, a run and a RBI. Carson Young contributed a hit with two RBIs. Cadence Buttram and Eliza Mathis both had a hit and a run. Savannah Smith scored twice and Amiyah Thomas drove in a run.
Young earned the win in the circle after working six innings. She allowed just two hits, a walk and had three strikeouts.
Piedmont is scheduled to host Oxford on Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m.
