A single-vehicle accident sent one to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.
According to Alabama State Trooper accident reports that mishap was at 2:25pm on County Road 71, near County Road 128 at the southern end of the Terrapin Creek Bridge – and it involved a 2005 Chevy Silverado.
The driver apparently lost control of the truck, running off the roadway, with the vehicle coming to rest upside down, and leaning against a utility pole.
Afterwards the driver – a male resident of Leesburg – was transported to Floyd Medical Center in Rome for treatment.
The Mt. Weisner Fire Department responded to assist with traffic – along with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the Cherokee County Rescue Squad, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department, EMA, the Centre Police Department and Floyd EMS responding.
