A 71 year old Summerville, Georgia man – was charged with DUI – by the Summerville Police over the past weekend, after a traffic stop near some storage units on Sixth Avenue. Police say that an officer was sitting stationary in a patrol vehicle when he saw a driver fail to stop at a stop sign.
After initiating a traffic stop and speaking with the driver, the officer had noticed signs of impairment – and open containers of alcohol inside the man’s vehicle.
After he failed several field sobriety tests – Michael Pledger Turner – was charged with DUI for alcohol, failure to stop at a railroad crossing signal, open container of alcohol and driving on suspended or revoked license – and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
