Mr. John Wayne McCleskey age 83 of Leesburg passed away Sunday February 4th at Gadsden Regional hospital.
Funeral service will be 12 PM Wednesday February 7th at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Gary DeBerry and Rev. Jeff Barber officiating, burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Stanley Free, Gene Farmer, Larry Leslie, Don Rochester, Hoppie Morris and John Bert East. Honorary Pallbearers will be GW Graham, Calvin Sanford and George Eubanks.
Survivors include wife, Janis McCleskey; son, Matt McCleskey; brother, Robert “Bob” McCleskey.
Mr. McCleskey was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Leonard and Mildred McCleskey and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Shady Grove Cemetery Fund. The family request no food or flowers.
