Mrs. Julia Frances Cooper passed away Wednesday, January 17th, 2024, peacefully at the age of 93.
Julia (Gege) was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She was born on April 13th, 1930 in Ohio and was raised and spent her childhood in Sparrows Point, Maryland. She married her husband John in 1954, where they started a business and had two children together in Vincennes, Indiana. They later resided in Centre, AL where she devoted her time to her family and running John Cooper Produce Inc.
She is survived by her two children; daughter Cindy Lyn Hopper (Steve); and son John Terry Cooper; her grandchildren Amber Cooper May (Chase) and Alexis Cooper Brock (Joel); great grandsons Cash May and Silas Brock; and chosen daughter Elise Keener.
She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Cooper and her parents Ralph and Opsie Kitchell.
Honorary pallbearers include: Jamie Burns, Mitchell Guice, Jay Jordan, Rex Johnson, Larry (Frog) West, and Charlie Mullican.
Julia (Gege) always had a welcoming home and loving heart where she treated everyone as her own. The love and kindness she showed to those around her will forever be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, January 27th at 2 pm at Perry Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at 1 pm until time of service at Perry Funeral Home.
