Middlebrooks tosses in 30, leads Collinsville boys past Valley Head in DeKalb County Tournament

SYLVANIA – Jake Middlebrooks scored 30 points and grabbed eight rebounds in leading the Collinsville Panthers past Valley Head 68-48 in the DeKalb County Tournament at Sylvania on Thursday.

Gavin Lang sank five 3-pointers and had 15 points for the Panthers. Mason McAteer finished with five points.

Kolby Dupree delivered 18 points for the Tigers, including a pair of treys. Daniel Gibson added 11 points. Nate Bain and Lennon Pike both finished with seven points. Pike had a pair of treys.

Collinsville jumped out to a 19-5 first quarter lead and built a 36-14 edge at halftime. The Panthers held a 51-31 advantage at the end of three quarters.

In girls tournament action, Sylvania cruised to a 75-28 victory over the Lady Panthers.

Karly Middlebrooks led Collinsville with eight points and six rebounds. Carlee Davis delivered six points and 14 boards. Bella Wills finished with five points.

Molly Weaver topped Sylvania with 21 points, including three 3-pointers. Alli Murdock, Avery Jenkins and Taylor Martin each scored 12 points. Jenkins and Martin both had a pair of treys.

Sylvania held a 16-6 advantage at the end of the first quarter and built a 41-15 edge at halftime. The Lady Rams led 57-21 after three quarters.
