Fyffe sweeps Collinsville in area basketball action

COLLINSVILLE – The Fyffe Red Devils swept Collinsville in basketball action on Friday. Fyffe earned a 58-48 victory in the boys game, while the Lady Red Devils claimed a 52-21 win in the girls game.

In the boys game, Cooper Cox led three Fyffe players in double figures with 17 points. Isaac Slaton and Brodie Willoughby scored 13 and 12 points respectively. Willoughby had a pair of 3-pointers.

Alex Nelson also had two treys and finished with eight points. Jacob Cagle came away with six points for Fyffe.

Jake Middlebrooks led the Panthers with 27 points and nine rebounds. Zach Clanton contributed seven points. Gavin Lang finished with six points, including two 3-pointers, and five rebounds.

Collinsville held a 12-9 advantage at the end of the first quarter, but Fyffe rallied to take a 20-19 lead at halftime. The Red Devils maintained at 36-34 edge after three quarters. They outscored Collinsville 22-14 in the fourth for the final.

In the girls game, Teia Carroll connected on three treys and scored 11 points to lead the Lady Red Devils. Kendra Fay tossed in 10 points. Ellison Stone, Samantha Galloway and Madelyn Hawkins each finished with five points.

Karly Middlebrooks and Caleigh McElroy led the Lady Panthers with six points apiece.
