Rome Man Now in Custody, Accused of Armed Robbery Crimes

Additional details have now been released regarding an arrest of a Rome man, back on December 22nd – in connection with armed robberies that occurred in North Rome and West Rome.

According to Floyd County Jail records – Edward Louis Crowder, age 53 – robbed the North Broad Food Mart on December 4th by aiming a firearm at the clerk and demanding money from the register – then on December 18th, Crowder robbed the Redmond Food Mart using a fake, plastic rifle.  The following day, he robbed the Chastain Regency liquor store on North Broad Street at gunpoint, taking $700 from the register.

Crowder remains jailed without bond, on four counts of armed robbery – three counts of aggravated assault – with single counts of the possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and a probation violation.
