SAND ROCK – Kaitlyn St.Clair surpassed 2,000 points for her career in leading the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats to a 76-31 area basketball win over visiting Fyffe on Tuesday.

St.Clair finished with 36 points, including five 3-pointers for the Lady Wildcats (15-6). She also had six rebounds, five assists and five steals.

St. Clair is the third Lady Wildcat to ever reach the 2,000-career point plateau. The other two are Taylor Burt and Lanie Henderson.

Zoey Handy contributed 15 points, eight boards, an assist and a steal. Chloe Stephens collected 14 points, including a pair of treys. She also had four boards, three steals and an assist. Kennedy Henderson finished with eight points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Kendra Fay led the Lady Red Devils with eight points. Teia Carroll tallied six points on a pair of 3-pointers. Ella Nail finished with five points.

Sand Rock jumped out to a 26-5 advantage at the end of the first quarter and built a 47-17 lead at halftime.

In boys action, Fyffe held on for a 60-52 victory over the Wildcats.

Brodie Willoughby and Cooper Cox both scored 19 points to lead the Red Devils. Willoughby sank three treys and Cox was 8-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Isaac Slaton added 11 points and Jesse Burt finished with seven points for Fyffe.

Ty Traffanstedt tallied 18 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the Wildcats. He was also 7-of-7 from the free-throw line. Cam Gifford tossed in 16 points, including a pair of treys. Carson Wiford managed eight points and Jonas Browder finished with six points on a pair of 3-pointers.

Fyffe held a 13-10 advantage after one and built a 34-25 advantage at halftime. Fyffe held a 47-40 edge after three quarters.

Both Sand Rock teams travel to Gaston on Friday.
