A suspect has now been charged, in the New Year’s Day shooting death of an Anniston woman; 35 year old Jarvis Donquisse Swink, is charged with murder in the Monday slaying of 21 year old Kasmine L. McAfee.
Anniston police responded around 4:30pm to the 2700 block of Simpson Street on a report of a person being shot. Lt. Tim Suits said the shooting followed a verbal argument between Swink and McAfee after McAfee had walked onto her property. The two did NOT know each other. McAfee was transported to Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center – where she later died.
Investigators identified Swink as the suspect. He was taken into custody on Thursday and booked into the Calhoun County Jail – where he is being held without bond. The investigation is on-going.
