Mrs. Bertie Lewis

 Mrs. Bertie Lewis, age 97, of Centre passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be 2PM Thursday, January 4th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eugene Burgess and Rev. Ricky Pollard officiating.

Burial will be in Cherokee Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 12PM to 2PM Thursday, January 4th at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will include Eric Woodall, Josh Fennell, Blake Fennell, Tim McDonough, Al Young, Casey Young, Danny Walker and Johnny Walker.

Honorary Pallbearers will include Van Smart, Tommy Hansard and Employees of Dean’s Pharmacy.

Survivors are daughters, Regina Lewis, Betty Woodall, Deborah (Rodney) Hopper; grandchildren, Bridget (Josh) Fennell, Eric (Lois) Woodall, Stephanie Woodall Cobb, Terri Woodall, Kacey (Alan) Douglas, Keesha (Aaron) Payne; great grandchildren, Matt Hill, Cooper (Hannah) Cobb, Stephen (Victoria) Cobb, Logan Woodall, Lexie Woodall, Max (Natalie) Douglas, Jonah Douglas, Kinsley Payne, Grant Payne, Garrett Payne, Blake Fennell, Chloe Fennell; great-great grandchild, Brinlee Anne Cobb; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Van Lewis; son-in-law, Steve Woodall; sister, Kathleen Adderhold; brothers, Hudson, Jesse and Glenn Boatfield.

Mrs. Lewis was a native of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late William Tom and Jeanette Bell McKnight Boatfield. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mom’s caretaker, Jackie Arledge and Southern Care Hospice.
