ATTALLA – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors capped off a 3-0 Etowah Christmas Classic by sinking 10 3-pointers and holding off Springville 60-58 on Friday.

Macy Lea tossed in five treys and had 15 points to lead the Lady Warriors. Mary Hayes Johnson connected on three 3-pointers and had 14 points. Nevaeh Gaidurgis also netted 14 points. Ava Haygood and Deannia Starr finished with seven and six points respectively.

Abby Byrd led the Lady Tigers with 14 points. Audrey Talton tallied nine points on three treys. Gabriella Allison and Olivia Carroll both scored eight points apiece. Leah Bowden finished with five points.

After holding an 18-16 edge after one, Cherokee County built a 37-24 advantage by halftime. The Lady Warriors led 48-42 after three quarters and held on in the fourth for the final.

Cherokee County travels to Alexandria on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
