Burn Ban Replaced With Burn Warning In Chattooga County, Georgia
On Monday afternoon, the Chattooga County Joint Executive Order that had placed a “Burn Ban” in effect until January 1st of 2024, was changed from a ban to a “Burn Warning”. That amended joint order between County Commissioner Blake Elsberry and the mayors of all four municipalities in the county – says that county residents should check weather conditions PRIOR to doing ANY outdoor burning.
The “Burn Warning” is in place from now until January 16th of 2024.
Locally, all restrictions on regular Burning here in Cherokee County have been lifted – HOWEVER – we DO URGE extra caution any time that you do a protected burn of ANY type.
Be RESPONSIBLE and be SAFE.
