GERALDINE – Mary Hayes Johnson tossed in 13 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, in leading the Cherokee County Lady Warriors to a 56-38 win over Geraldine in the Liberty Bank Basketball Invitational on Tuesday.
Ellisan Givens and Audrey Haygood both added nine points for the Lady Warriors (3-1), who were coming off a 60-50 victory over DAR on Monday. Haygood also had a pair of treys. Nevaeh Gaidurgis contributed eight points and Ava Haygood finished with five points.
Kaley Brock topped Geraldine with 11 points. Lora Johnson and Kentlei Rogers finished with eight and five points respectively.
Cherokee County held an 18-13 advantage at the end of the first quarter and led 28-15 at halftime. The Lady Warriors extended their lead to 49-21 after three quarters.
Cherokee County plays Douglas today at 4:30 p.m.
