Cedar Bluff Town Council Meeting

During the Monday afternoon Cedar Bluff Town Council Meeting, Mayor Protem,  Anna Grace filled in for Mayor Crane. The Public Hearing, for the reduced speed limit from 25 mph down to 15 mph on the streets of Sewell Ferry Road and Hidden Point Drive was exactly six minutes long. It will be discussed at the next Council meeting on December 11th.

The workshop began at 5:00 pm with Bill Warren speaking at length about a new fire truck for Cedar Bluff. This was tabled until the next Council meeting.

The Council Meeting began at 5:30 pm with the Minutes and Financial Reports from October being approved.

Chief of Police Jeremy Stepps gave the Police Report for October with 5 Felony Arrests and 9653 miles patrolled.

Bill Warren gave the Fire Report and there were 20 fire incidents.

The Building Inspector report was given and there were 14 permits issued. Also, there were 2 nuisance letters issued.

The Fire Department accepted Samuel Hancock’s application for a volunteer fireman.

Park Rules were a large topic and Chief Stepps will get with all of the Council to discuss new rules because of some of the problems they have had lately in the park. This was tabled.

The Family Dollar Store’s application to sell alcohol was tabled.

The Christmas Parade will be December 4th at 6:00 pm.

The next Cedar Bluff Town council Meeting will be Monday December 11th.
