The Cherokee County Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security/Alabama

A large number of area Firefighters, and also Alabama Forestry Commission Officials, worked a large wild land fire throughout the night (Wednesday, November 8th) on Round Mountain.   The Forestry Commission continues to conduct “back burning” operations – and as a result you may experience a large amount of smoke and see some fire in the area.
