A Concrete Truck Takes out Power Lines at Taylor’s Ridge early Friday in North Georgia
UPDATE
An accident occurring at Kirby Hollow Road and Highway 27 on Friday morning brought the traffic coming over Taylor’s Ridge – to a standstill.
According to initial reports, a concrete truck ran off of the road, and into a power line. Crews had to be brought to the scene and workers had to prop up power lines with heavy machinery – so that the driver of the truck could be extricated. Traffic over the ridge was rerouted for several hours and by the middle of the afternoon, one single lane of traffic was cleared to be allowed over the ridge and by 4:00pm, the highway was fully re-opened. The accident knocked out power to around 450 people initially.
We’ll have more information as it’s made available.
