Multiple Departments Fight 40+ Acre Fire Tuesday Evening/Night

The Cedar Bluff, Broomtown/Rhinehart, and Gaylesville Volunteer Fire Departments, as well as the Alabama Forestry Commission, all joined forces in bringing a large woods fire of over 40 acres, under control Tuesday night in Cherokee County.  That was between Highway 9 and County Road 117.

This was just one of multiple wildfires in the area on Tuesday, including fires reported in DeKalb and Etowah Counties.

Remember, we are currently under a re-instated Fire Alert for a large portion of the state – with NO BURN PERMITS being issued in the entire northern half of Alabama – and no rainfall being in the immediate forecast.

Everyone is urged to exercise extreme caution during this time.
