Collinsville rebounds with shutout at Ider

IDER – After a tough loss to Fyffe last week, the Collinsville Panthers rebounded with a 54-0 blowout at Ider in Class 2A, Region 7 football action on Friday.

Quintavious Rogers led the Panthers (5-2, 3-2) with 143 yards on eight carries and three touchdowns. He also accounted for a 46-yard punt return for a score in the first quarter.

Gavin Lang also returned a punt for a 68-yard touchdown in the first quarter as Collinsville held a 13-0 advantage before the Panther offense took its first snap.

Rogers and Mason McAteer scored on runs of 12 and 25 yards to give the Panthers a 27-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Rogers added touchdown runs of 4 and 83 yards in the second to provide Collinsville a 40-0 edge at halftime.

McAteer, who completed all three of his pass attempts for 50 yards, connected with Sylas Adams for a 30-yard score early in the third quarter. Kyler Beene added a 2-yard touchdown run late in the third for the final.

Kaleb Cronnon led the Hornets (2-5, 1-4) with 57 yards on 14 carries.

Collinsville hosts Whitesburg Christian on Friday. Ider is at Sand Rock.
