GLENCOE – Sand Rock went 4-1 and came in second in the Glencoe Volleyball Invitational on Saturday.
In pool play, the Lady Wildcats (35-15) defeated Hokes Bluff 25-20, 25-12, Cedar Bluff 25-18, 25-17 and Cleburne County 25-12, 25-18.
In the tournament semifinals, Sand Rock beat Glencoe 25-19, 25-18, then lost in the tournament final to Sylacauga 16-25, 26-24, 9-15.
Katelyn St.Clair collected 57 kills, 25 digs, seven aces and three blocks. In the finals of the tournament Saturday against Sylacauga, she broke a school record for kills in a season with 616 so far. The previous record was set by Madison Smith in 2013 with 611 kills.
Rylin St.Clair compiled 91 assists, 24 digs, three blocks and six kills for Sand Rock. Zoey Handy had 28 kills and seven blocks. Chloe Stephens posted 54 digs. Bethany Davis delivered 19 kills, 41 digs and six aces. Amber Day finished with 31 digs.
Sand Rock travels to Cedar Bluff on Monday.
