Cherokee County volleyball splits with Ohatchee, Pell City

OHATCHEE – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors split a pair of volleyball matches at Ohatchee on Tuesday. They lost to the host Lady Indians 19-25, 25-23, 14-16, but rebounded to take a 25-22, 20-25, 15-10 decision against Pell City.

In the loss to Ohatchee, Macy Lea compiled 26 assists, four kills and seven digs. Raegan Garmany contributed seven kills, three blocks and three digs. Ava Haygood collected five kills, seven digs, two blocks and an assist. Ellisan Given posted 19 digs and an assist. Nevaeh Gaidurgis finished with seven kills, six digs and a pair of blocks.

In the win over Pell City, Haygood delivered eight kills, seven digs, four aces and three blocks. Aubrie Abernathy added 15 assists, 13 digs and four aces. Libby Curry contributed five kills, three digs and an ace. Givens managed 20 digs, three assists and a pair of aces. Gaidurgis finished with eight kills, three digs and a block.

Cherokee County hosts Jacksonville and Spring Garden on Thursday.
