This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the counties served by the National Weather Service office in Birmingham.
Outlook through Tonight.
After an afternoon of high temperatures near 100, little relief is expected through tonight with low temperatures only reaching the middle to upper 70s across much of central Alabama. This could result in continued heat stress for those without means to stay cool.
Sunday through Next Friday.
A combination of hot and humid conditions should result in heat index values hitting or exceeding 105 degrees from late morning to early evening each day through Monday. This could cause heat stress for those with prolonged exposure to the heat.
Strong to severe storms are possible for eastern portions of Central Alabama on Sunday and for most all of Central Alabama for Monday. Damaging winds up to 60 mph and hail are possible.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT
Activation of storm spotters and emergency management may be needed Sunday and Monday.
