On Thursday afternoon units with the McCord’s Crossroads and Spring Creek Fire Departments responded to a residence in the 7000 Block of County Road 113 – to a report of someone being burned in some type of explosion.
When units arrived on the scene, there was no fire but they did find a person had been injured or burned, when a lawn mower malfunctioned as it was being repaired, causing hot fluids to spray the area around it.
The injured person was transported by Atrium/Floyd EMS to an area trauma unit in Rome for what was described as non-life threatening injuries.
That incident occurred shortly after 3:30pm.
