Saturday was a busy, festive day at the Indian Mountain ATV Park in eastern Cherokee County with the anticipation of a great concert on Saturday night.
Throughout the day, there were several ATV accidents with some injuries; medics at the scene were busy treating those injured. Just before 6pm, a call was received from the ATV park requesting the coroner as someone had been fatally injured.
According to Cherokee County Coroner Paul McDonald, Christopher Johnson, age 45 from North Central Alabama, was pronounced deceased at the scene after suffering traumatic injuries when the ATV he was driving rolled over. No other vehicles or persons were involved. Piedmont Rescue Squad, Spring Garden Fire Department, and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s officers assisted the coroner.
