Mrs. Jane Cleveland James

Jane Cleveland James, 91 died Sunday April 2 at her residence after an extended illness.  She was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 10th at Centre First United Methodist Church at 5:00 PM with Dr. Jeff Davis, and Reverend Don Barnett officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

 Mrs. James is survived by her children, Keith (Pam) James, Suzanne (Tracy) Bishop, and David (Cindy) James.  She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Kacy Lemons, Haley (Tim) Trammel, Matt (Caitlin) Bishop, Zach (Kellie) Bishop and Joel Bishop: Three great-grandchildren, Blake Wright, Ty Trammell and A. J. Lemons.

Mrs. James was preceded in death by her husband, Travis James, brothers Herman Cleveland and Allen D. Cleveland, sisters Carolyn Chesnut and Doris Green and a special niece, Glenda Green. 

She was the daughter of the late Frank and Elsie Cleveland of Gaylesville, AL. 

Mrs. James was an active member of Centre First United Methodist Church for over seventy years.  Church music was her passion, and she served many years as pianist, organist, and choir member.  She enjoyed playing the piano for people to sing, especially children. 

Honorary Pallbearers include:  Patrick Nicovich, Steve Green, Jeff Green Allen Cleveland, George Chesnut, John Higginbotham, Wallace Lyons, Larry Sanford, Patricia Stefanic, Susan Kennedy-Jennings, Elias Jennings, Billy Mack Garrett, Jimmy Griffith, the employees of Cherokee Milling Co,  and her wonderful caregivers: Rene Dupree, Sharron Hann, Barbara Dupree, Monica Perry, Linda Erwin, Deina Walker and Lisa Hampton. 

The family request no flowers please.  Memorial contributions may be made to Centre First United Methodist Church.
