A DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) investigator said two people were shot during an incident in Powell on Friday afternoon. Powell Police Department Chief Gage Wilson confirmed that they responded to a shooting call on College Road.

DCSO Chief Investigator Nick Brown said that two people were shot but no one is cooperating, so they aren’t sure why they were shot at this time. One gunshot victim was transported to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, but the other took off in a car, according to Brown.

Chief Wilson said authorities believe this is an isolated incident and don’t believe the public is in any danger at this time. The investigator said it appears to have stemmed from an argument in the yard, with someone shooting from a car and someone else shooting from the house.
