The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Announces New Executive Director

The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce announces NEW Executive Director

At a recent Chamber Board meeting, Joy Perry was named Executive Director. She has been with the Chamber for twelve years and has served as Accounts Receivable, Membership, and Social Media Manager.  Joy is a native of Cherokee County and has been involved with many organizations, church, and school system for many years.

“I have been fortunate to work in a career I enjoy,” Joy said.  “I began working for the Chamber 12 years ago in social media and membership. It is a good fit for me.  I grew up in beautiful Cherokee County, love the people and believe in our small businesses!! I look forward to becoming the Executive Director.

One of our key goals has been to grow, and we have.  We have not only increased in number but have been strengthened by enthusiastic members who choose to stay active and supportive. That is saying a lot, especially when considering the difficult issues of Covid these last few years.

One of the major reasons we can applaud the status of the Cherokee County Chamber is centered around the leadership of Thereasa Hulgan, our retiring executive director.  To say that she has been a great asset to the Chamber and Cherokee County would be an understatement. Thereasa has been an advocate for many and a friend to all.  I will truly miss Thereasa, but am excited for her too!”

“We are excited and lucky to have Joy Perry as our new executive director,” said Conrad Reed, Chamber Board Chairman.  “Joy has done a great job in her current position and will be a big asset to our chamber, businesses and community in her new role. We appreciate Joy accepting the position as executive director.”

Joy will officially begin her new role as executive director at the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting on Thursday, April27th at 12 noon in the Gadsden State Cherokee Arena.
