Cam Welsh’s grand slam sparks Spring Garden past Hokes Bluff

HOKES BLUFF – Cam Welsh delivered a grand slam to spark the Spring Garden Panthers past Hokes Bluff 9-7 in baseball action on Saturday.

Welsh finished the game going 3-for-4 with two runs and five RBIs for the Panthers. Chapel Pope posted a pair of hits and scored a pair of runs. Hayes Garmon also had two hits and a walk. Connor Bates collected a hit, a walk, a run and a RBI. John Welsh added a hit, a walk and a run.

Garmon earned the win on the mound after tossing 3 2/3 innings. He surrendered three earned runs on seven hits with three walks and no strikeouts. Clayton Sadler pitched three innings, scattering five hits, two walks and two strikeouts with no earned runs. Reece Winstead worked 1/3 of an inning.

The Panthers improved to 6-3 with the win.
