SAND ROCK – Sand Rock’s EllaGrace Hood tossed a one-hitter through seven innings and finished with eight strikeouts in leading the Class 2A, No. 3 Lady Wildcats to a 4-0 softball victory over visiting Fyffe on Thursday.

Hood also had a triple and walked at the plate for Sand Rock (17-6). Katelyn StClair posted a pair of hits, scored a run and drove in another. Emma Sipsy had a hit, a walk and a run. Briley Knight contributed a hit. Lacey Barnette walked and scored a run. Sherina Foster drove in a run.

The game was scoreless through three innings before Sand Rock pushed across a run in the bottom of the fourth and three more in the bottom of the fifth for the final.
