Ider surges in second half past Collinsville for 65-46 girls sub-regional win

IDER – Despite a game-high 30-point outing from Tyla Tatum, the Collinsville Lady Panthers’ basketball season ended at Ider in sub-regional action on Monday. The final was 65-46.

Makinley Traylor led the Lady Hornets with 26 points, including a 16-of-19 performance from the free-throw line. She was 12-of-14 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter. Cambree Chapman, Kenzie Smith and Addisyn Heard each scored eight points. Julie Mavity finished with six points.

Sophia Wills and Rylee Tillery both finished with six points for the Lady Panthers. Tillery’s points came on a pair of 3-pointers. Tatum also sank a pair of treys.

Collinsville held a 10-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter and led 23-22 at halftime. The Lady Hornets then went on a 25-9 third quarter run to take a 47-32 edge.

Ider advances to the Class 2A Northeast Regional Tournament at Jacksonville State University’s Pete Mathews Coliseum on Friday. The Lady Hornets will take on Pleasant Valley, a 63-58 winner over Horseshoe Bend in other sub-regional action on Monday.

Collinsville’s season comes to a close at 16-8.
