Coming off their fourth consecutive Cherokee County Tournament championship, the Spring Garden Lady Panthers (25-0) continue to be the top-ranked team in Class 1A in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association basketball poll. The latest rankings were released early Thursday morning.
Three other area girls teams are among those nominated this week, including Class 4A Cherokee County (17-6), Class 2A Collinsville (10-6) and Class 1A Cedar Bluff (11-10).
In the boys poll, Piedmont (17-4) holds steady at No. 6 in Class 3A while Spring Garden (12-7) dropped three spots to No. 8.
Other area boys teams nominated this week include Cedar Bluff (14-8), Collinsville (11-10), Sand Rock (15-8) and Cherokee County (11-9).
