Just after 2:30pm Thursday, Central Dispatch received a call from a kayaker on Terrapin Creek stating he had come up on an individual on the creek bank who seemed to be suffering from heat stress or heat stroke.
Cherokee County Sheriff deputy responded along with Cherokee County Rescue Squad and Floyd EMS. The man was transported via kayak to where the medical team could provide services and transport him to the hospital for treatment.
