MONTGOMERY – The Alabama High School Athletic Association unveiled the 2022-24 spring sports area alignments on Tuesday, a day after the Central Board of Control voted to postpone region play for the sports of baseball, softball and soccer until more research and data can be studied.
In baseball, Class 1A, Area consists of Cedar Bluff, Coosa Christian, Gaylesville and Spring Garden. Class 2A, Area 13 is comprised of Collinsville, Donoho, Gaston, Pleasant Valley and Sand Rock. Class 3A, Area 10 includes Piedmont, Saks, Weaver and Wellborn. Class 4A, Area 14 is made up of Cherokee County, DAR, Etowah and North Jackson.
In softball, Class 1A, Area 11 features Cedar Bluff, Faith Christian, Jacksonville Christian and Spring Garden. Gaylesville shifts to the new Class 1A, Area 15 along with Skyline, Valley Head and Woodville. Class 2A, Area 11 consists of Collinsville, Fyffe, Gaston and Sand Rock. Class 3A, Area 10 is comprised of Piedmont, Saks, Weaver and Wellborn. Ashville, Cherokee County, Etowah and Oneonta make up the new Class 4A, Area 12.
In boys and girls soccer, Collinsville, Faith, Christian, Glencoe, Hokes Bluff, Saks, Sylvania and Weaver are members of Class 1A-3A, Area 6. Class 4A, Area 6 consists of Cherokee County, Etowah and Westbrook Christian.
