Cedar Bluff softball rallies past White Plains, 3-2

ALBERTVILLE – Cedar Bluff scored an unearned run in the top of the sixth inning and held on for a 3-2 victory over White Plains in the Sand Mountain Pre-Area Softball Tournament on Friday evening.

Natalie Baty earned the win for Class 1A, No. 10 Cedar Bluff (20-8-2). She gave up two runs (neither earned) on six hits with two walks and a strikeout.

Reece Patterson led the Lady Tigers at the plate by going 2-for-3. Jordyn Walker contributed a hit and drove in a pair of runs. Harlie Nelson had a hit, walked twice and scored a run. Haley Allen added a hit and a run. Emma Haney and Caitlin Slayton both finished with a hit.

Cedar Bluff plays again at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
