The driver of an 18-wheeler fortunately escaped injury after his truck left the road in Etowah County while traveling southbound on Highway 411.
The 2003 Peterbilt, being driven by a resident of Jacksonville, came to rest in a ditch approximately two miles south of the 411/Appalachian Highway intersection around 4:40am Wednesday.
The cause of that accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers – no other vehicles were involved.
