The GSP is still investigating a fatal auto accident involving a pedestrian on Highway 27 in the area around the Trion Wal-Mart.   According to information provided by the Georgia State Patrol– Thursday, March 3rd, at 2:56am – state troopers from Post 38 in Rome responded to a crash on GA 1, south of Underwood Drive, in Chattooga County. 

A Ford Expedition traveling south on GA 1, hit two pedestrians, as they were crossing the road from east to west. 

One of the pedestrians struck was treated on the scene and the other pedestrian was transported to Atrium Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
