Gadsden could be getting its first “Hot Now” sign.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is seeking construction bids for a store at 504 E. Meighan Blvd. in Gadsden.
Krispy Kreme has 11 stores in Alabama, but Gadsden’s closest stores are in Birmingham and Huntsville.
Construction documents show the store will be less than 5,000 feet. The coffee and doughnut chain opened in 1937 and is headquartered in Winston-Salem, N.C. It opened its 1,000th store in February.
