On Monday, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, Investigator’s, members of the District Attorney’s Office and members of the Adamsburg Fire Department – along with the Deputy State Fire Marshal, responded to a residence on Highway 35 on Lookout Mountain, where a burnt body was discovered in an out building.

Sheriff Jimmy Harris says the investigation is on-going, and no foul play is suspected at this time.

The District Attorney’s Office has ordered an autopsy, and the body was transported by the coroner to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science.

The name is being withheld pending the notification of all family members, some of whom live out of state.
