Cherokee County Warriors Varsity beat the Spring Garden Panthers 9-1 in seven innings on Friday at Spring Garden High School after a six-run explosion in the seventh inning.
Cherokee County Warriors Varsity scored in the seventh on an RBI single by Colin Brewer, an RBI single by Bronson Chandler, an RBI single by Drew Vance, and a three-run double by Mason Rodgers.
Rodgers racked up three RBIs on two hits for Cherokee County Warriors Varsity.
Christian Stinson got the win for Cherokee County Warriors Varsity thanks to 12 strikeouts. Stinson allowed no earned runs, two hits and three walks over five innings.
Crider was the game’s losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked one and struck out seven.

Cherokee County Warriors Varsity starter Preston Grimes doesn’t need much help when he is on the bump and he showed it on Saturday at CCHS against Glencoe. Seven strong innings by Grimes carried Cherokee County Warriors Varsity to a 2-1 victory over Glencoe in seven innings.
Caleb Ransum helped Cherokee County Warriors Varsity take the lead for good in the seventh inning. Jai Lockridge singled to get on base in the seventh. He then went from first to second on a single by Riley Miller.
Cherokee County Warriors Varsity would not relinquish the lead as Glencoe was unable to weather a two-run seventh inning deficit.
Unfortunately, Glencoe wasn’t able to take the lead back.
Jeff Ford couldn’t get it done on the rubber for Glencoe, taking a loss. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.

Both the Cherokee County Warriors Varsity and Pleasant Valley put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was Cherokee County Warriors Varsity that was able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-2 win at CCHS.
Pleasant Valley out-hit Cherokee County Warriors Varsity seven to six, but Pleasant Valley stranded nine runners on base.
Noah Hubbard racked up two RBIs on one hit for Cherokee County Warriors Varsity. He doubled in the fourth inning.
Logan Green looked sharp on the hill. Pleasant Valley managed just one hit off of Green, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.
Bronson Chandler got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out eight, walked two and surrendered six hits.
Elijah Borders was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
