Mr. Edward Leon Slayton, age 73, of Piedmont, passed away February 14th at Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Thursday February 18th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow in Faith Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 12 until 1 P.M .

Survivors include son Anthony (Geneva) Slayton of Cedar Bluff; daughter Laura Ann (John Howard) Wheat of Centre; brothers Danny Lee (Brenda) Slayton of Cedar Bluff, Charles Edward Slayton of Ball Play; sister Audrey Lee Haggard of Centre; 5 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Slayton was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late James and Minnie Hamilton Slayton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
