An investigation into a stabbing incident on April 19th has led to Etowah County man being jailed on multiple counts of possession of pornographic materials.
Authorities said that during that investigation, a man told them that 37 year old Joel Wesley Dillard had been looking at pornographic materials via the computer, and by phone. Search warrants for Dillard’s laptop and phone were obtained and the items were sent for forensic testing.
Investigators said they determined that the images found were obviously of children and as a result, Dillard was charged for each image – a total of 32 counts in all.
Law enforcement officials added that nothing in those photos indicate they were produced locally and they’ve found nothing to indicate Dillard had any contact with the children.
He remains in the Etowah County Detention Center on bond of $51,000.
